The Local Group [27k]

Without science, we would be living in a world unlike what we see today. The sciences, astronomy included, are the foundation of the entire modern world. This is where I get to share my view and my love of astronomy with the world.

Hopefully, I can share my passion with you, and open your mind to a world- a universe- that is has been overlooked many, many times throughout history. Though, at first, astronomy seems like rocket science, and some of the concepts here are no different. But, I have tried to provide a glance- a tiny, tiny piece- of what drives us to erect huge radio telescopes and propel flying objects deep into space to collect data from places that we will most likely never go in our lifetimes. When a child stares into the night-sky and asks, "Why are there stars?", or you ask yourself, "Why are we here, where did we come from?" do you have the answers?

The 'My View' section is finally completed, complete with descriptive graphics. I have also given you a chance to share 'Your View' to send in to be published in the soon-to-be 'Board Room.'

I have gotten together the 'Elsewhere' section: the links area. You can find the latest news from NASA in that section, as well as a virtual cornucopia of the best links in my personal collection regarding science.

There are several new documents that are here now:

The World Scientist's Warning To Humanity

Pope John Paul II's Speech to The Pontifical Academy of Sciences
This is the speech Pope John Paul II gave addressing evolution.
