| Astronomy allows us to view these 'patterns' on a much larger scale: Our Earth is orbited by our moon, the Earth orbits the Sun, the Sun is a part of a larger star-system, our galaxy is full of similar star-systems, our galaxy is part of a cluster of galaxies called The Local Group, and, "Hubble uncovered a bewildering assortment of at least 1,500 galaxies at various stages of evolution" shown in a photograph of a speck of the sky measuring the size of a dime [ refer to the second page ] (Hubble's 1). |

| This is only the beginning. Could other life in our galaxy or the universe form from a similar pattern? From our viewpoint, this seems highly probable. In light of the recent discovery of "two Earth-like planets around the pulsar B1257+12","an apparent Jovian planet...around the star 52 Pegasi" (Sagan,Abundance1), and the Jupiter-sized planets orbiting 70 Vir and 47 Uma (Bothun 1), we are able to get an idea of what it would take to provide an Earth-like existence. |
