Mkzdk This site should be in a class all by itself. This is one of my top 10 favorite sites. Many interesting views on modern astronomy & cosmology, and has written essays concerning almost every aspect of science. Check out his views on Extraterrestrial Encounters. Comet & Asteroid Impacts What would the world be like if an asteroid, just a mile wide, struck the Earth? Views of The Solar System Great learning aid for all ages & historical views. The Possibilty of Other Life Carl Sagan's 'in defense' speech in regard to The Possibility of Other Life in The Universe. Also, there is link to Ernst Mayar's original essay. Faith, Hope, and Walter Go there, read the essay, view the slide show- you'll love it. Six Flood Arguments Creationists Can't Answer Originally written by Robert J. Schadewald, reprinted from Creation/Evolution IX (1982). Great piece of work, written to question the theory of creation. Pope John Paul II's Message To The Pontifical Academy of Sciences The Pope's speech concerning evolution, given, from the Vatican, October 22, 1996. |
Near Earth Objects Hale Bopp Home Page No bald people here with black Nike's on, I don't think. Email me if you see any. This page also has animations, still images, and of course, documentation- for you technical types. The National Geographic Asteroids Page While this is actually an online movie/animation/game type thing, you do need the quicktime plugin. Great thing to see. Cosmology is defined as a branch of philosophy that deals with the origin and general structure of the universe- a deep, deep subject; this is certainly not for everyone. If you think rocket science is a bit in-depth, look into cosmology. Namely, cosmology attempts to explain characteristics such as space, time, causality, and freedom. Plainly: the branch of astronomy that deals with the general structure and evolution of the universe. Mkzdk is one of the few that I have ever seen that are TRUE cosmology oriented sites. As stated above, his site is well worth checking out- even if you're going for the graphics, give it a look. You will spend some time there. |
The Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence or S.E.T.I for short. This program is always in need of help & support; and, you may be able to guess why. Please do what you can to save this creative, adventurous program. It may be our only hope of finding out whether we are truly alone in the universe. Do you want to know- I mean, really, really know- before you die? Scoff not, it is a very real possibility, considering the scale of the universe, that you may never know in your lifetime if we are truly alone. Starting Point: Read More About What You Can Do!
