"Westend" Taken at: The base of Dog Loser Knob, Looking west approx. mid-afternoon. Notice the thick, Spruce forest just beyond the "saddle," just over Dog Loser Knob, to the west [the far left of the image]. Can you make out that white stuff on the bottom-right edge of the image? No, that's not snow [I wish]. It's actually Quartz rock. A well-known landmark is in the rear of the image [behind me]: Shining Rock. It's a HUGE rock, half of which is made of milky, white Quartz rock. Truly spectacular. Nikon N90s - 28mm Nikkor - Polarizing Filter - Wide-angle lens shade. One of 4 bracketed images taken at different exposures - set with MF-26 Control Back. [39k] © Brian J.
